Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has praised Jordan Ayew following his team’s victory over Bristol City in the English Championship.
The former Leicester City forward started the match and played 69 minutes as Sheffield United secured a narrow win to move up the league table.
Ayew completed 13 accurate passes, made five defensive contributions and won three of his eight ground duels.
After the match, Wilder praised the Ghanaian forward’s contribution as Sheffield United bounced back from their midweek defeat.
“We made some changes [to the starting unit]; delighted for Jordan,” Wilder said.
“His performance was really good, allowed us to go and press and get after them and allow us for them to go wrong for us to break up and control the game.
“Hopefully it’s a great boost for his confidence, but him and Kalvin [Phillips] were exceptional and outstanding.”
The 35-year-old has made four appearances in all competitions for Sheffield United since joining the club, but he is yet to score or provide an assist.
