Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong is expected to lead the Base Movement into the 2028 general elections, according to the group’s founder, George Oti Bonsu.
Speaking on Okay FM, Oti Bonsu said he has cautioned members of the movement against attacking Kennedy Agyapong or other political opponents ahead of the next election cycle.
“Kennedy Agyapong will lead us,” he said.
The former NPP financier made the remarks during an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on June 22, 2026.
When asked about the movement’s preferred flagbearer, Oti Bonsu suggested the answer was already known.
“You already know the answer. If I ever deny it, stop coming to my church,” he said.
He did not provide further details on the movement’s electoral plans beyond his comments on Kennedy Agyapong’s expected role.
