Kevin Taylor reported my death while I was sleeping at home – Kofi Akpaloo

Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) founder and leader Kofi Akpaloo has accused US-based Ghanaian commentator Kevin Taylor of spreading misinformation after Taylor allegedly reported that he had died while he was alive and at home.

The Ghanaian politician recalled the confusion the claim caused him and his family, saying he received more than 200 calls after the false report circulated.

“Kevin Taylor once publicised that I was dead whilst I was home comfortably sleeping,” he said on Pure FM.

According to Akpaloo, the incident showed how misinformation and targeted attacks can cause unnecessary panic, particularly when they involve public figures.

He said the false report created significant inconvenience for his family as people rushed to confirm whether he was actually dead.

Akpaloo also referred to comments attributed to Ghana Jollof, who he said had indicated that she would stop her inflammatory and inciteful commentary against the opposition NPP if Kevin Taylor also stopped his attacks and hate speech against the party.

For Akpaloo, the alleged false report about his death raises questions about Taylor’s credibility as a commentator.

He called on President John Dramani Mahama to intervene and ensure that political commentary does not descend into misinformation and personal attacks.

“Kevin Taylor should be called to order by Mahama and sanity will be restored,” Akpaloo said.

He maintained that political disagreements should not justify spreading false information, particularly when such claims can distress individuals and their families.
