Pollical commentator and anti corruption campaigner, Kwaku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM, has challenged Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah’s account of his confrontation with an Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) official, questioning his claim that the officer grabbed his hand.
KSM was addressing the MP’s account of the incident when he played excerpts of Baffour Awuah explaining what happened and then pointed to footage of the confrontation.
The MP had said he became concerned that the woman confronting him could be linked to an attempted kidnapping.
KSM strongly disputed that version. “Folks, there were so many bloggers on the location. There were so many cameras on the location,” he said.
“I have looked through the footage and looked and looked and looked. At no point did anyone see that his hand has been grabbed?”
KSM said the footage did not support the description given by the MP. “He said the woman grabbed the hand. No. We saw the evidence,” he said.
He also took issue with Baffour Awuah’s suggestion that the incident could have been an attempted kidnapping.
The MP had said: “It became obvious to me that it was one of the recent kidnappings that have been going on which is sponsored by the state.”
KSM reacted sharply to that claim. “How bogus and frivolous can such a lame fabrication of lies become that they’re going to be kidnapping you?” he asked.
He said the incident was being recorded by several people and that the circumstances visible in the footage did not, in his view, support the MP’s account.
KSM said the larger problem was the use of claims he believes can easily be disproved by available evidence. “It’s a blatant lie,” he said.
