The Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has terminated the appointment of Mr. Kwadwo Gyamfi Osafo-Mafo as the Director of Cyber Security at the National Communications Authority (NCA).
A letter dated February 14, 2025, and signed by Chief Director Alexander Ampofo, officially informed Mr. Osafo-Mafo of his dismissal.
The letter directed him to hand over his duties to the Director-General of the NCA immediately.
“In line with paragraph 8(1) of your appointment letter, you should be given three months’ salary in lieu of notice,” the letter stated. It also extended appreciation for his service while in office.
The termination follows recent government actions aimed at reviewing last-minute appointments made under the previous administration.
Though no specific reasons were given for Mr. Osafo-Mafo’s dismissal, it aligns with President John Mahama’s administration’s efforts to restructure key institutions.
