Efia Odo Calls for Transparency on Dumsor

Actress Efia Odo has called for clearer communication around power outages, saying citizens deserve to be informed in advance.

She questioned the explanations given for ongoing electricity challenges.

“Let us know what’s the real reason dumsor is happening because when we calculate the power, it doesn’t make sense,” she said on United Showbiz on UTV.

She compared the situation to systems in other countries.

“In America, when there’s an incident, you’re notified so you will know what to do,” she added.

Efia Odo said similar communication should apply in Ghana.

“When the light is about to go off, we should be notified,” she said.

She also commented on the government’s handling of the issue, saying she does not believe there is an intention to damage reputations.

“I don’t think any politician would deliberately want to give themselves a bad name,” she said.

Referring to President John Dramani Mahama, she added, “I don’t think he intentionally wants dumsor to be a thing that brings him down.

And if he doesn’t want it to bring him down, then they need to be honest.
