Let’s beat Hearts of Oak to wipe our tears—Kotoko PRO Sarfo Duku

Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Samuel Sarfo Duku Esq., has acknowledged the club’s current struggles and the frustration among supporters, while urging fans to stand firmly behind the team during this crucial period.

The Porcupine Warriors have endured an inconsistent run in the league and sit eight points behind leaders Medeama SC. Although several fixtures remain, they still have an opportunity to mount a title challenge.

Their difficulties were compounded over the weekend after a penalty shootout defeat to Aduana FC in the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup, ending their participation in the competition. The result leaves the club at risk of finishing the season without silverware unless performances improve.

The setback also led to the resignation of head coach Abdul Karim Zito, reflecting the difficult period the team has experienced, with assistant coach Prince Osei stepping in on an interim basis.

Speaking on Accra-based Angel FM, the legal practitioner appealed to supporters to move beyond the disappointment and attend Sunday’s match in large numbers, expressing confidence that their presence could influence the outcome and help revive the campaign.

“Come and let’s beat Hearts of Oak to wipe our tears because we are still the best club in the world”

The squad will continue preparations ahead of the final Super Clash of the 2025/26 season against Hearts of Oak on Sunday, February 15, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
