John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has advocated for experienced leadership to guide Ghana through its economic challenges.
Speaking to the Ada Traditional Council on August 27, Mahama emphasized that the youth of Ghana, who are integral to the country’s future, need help experimenting with inexperienced leadership.
“We don’t have time; Ghana does not have the luxury of time,” Mahama said.
“Our youth are the future, and they are also our present, and they don’t have the luxury of trial and error.”
He criticized electing leaders who lack experience, arguing that such individuals might worsen the country’s situation.
Mahama framed his experience as crucial for effective governance: “We need experience; we need one who has done it before.
We need the licensed driver to take over the vehicle and move it towards where God has said we should be.”
