Mahama praises Kasapreko for raising Ghc700m through GSE listing

President John Dramani Mahama has praised Kasapreko PLC for raising Ghc700 million through its listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), saying the investment will support the company’s expansion and create jobs.

Speaking during a working visit to the company on Thursday, October 8, Mahama said the funds were being invested in a new factory at Adeiso.

“That is not true. Kasapreko has invested, listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange, which is performing very well, and has raised Ghc700 million, which it is investing in its new factory at Adeiso,” he said.

Mahama congratulated the company on its successful listing and expressed hope that its expansion would lead to more factories and employment opportunities for young people.

The President recalled visiting Kasapreko 11 years ago to inaugurate its Production Line Three, noting that the company had since expanded to Production Line Eight.

“Today, in this factory alone, they have expanded to Production Line 8, producing all kinds of products, both for the Ghanaian market and for the foreign market,” he said.

He also expressed excitement about the new Adeiso facility, saying he looked forward to its commissioning next year.

Kasapreko officially listed on the GSE on June 15, 2026, after an initial public offering that attracted about Ghc1.72 billion in investor demand, representing a subscription rate of 246 per cent.

Mahama said the government was committed to creating an environment that would allow businesses to expand, adding that fiscal discipline was intended to create room for private-sector growth.

“We are exercising fiscal discipline. We are making sure that Government is living within its means and we are creating space for the private sector to grow,” he said.

He also commended Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare for bringing the concerns and challenges of industry to the government’s attention for redress.
