Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich welcomed President John Dramani Mahama to Belarus at the start of the Ghanaian leader’s state visit to Minsk.
As part of the visit, President Mahama paid tribute to Belarusian and Soviet soldiers who lost their lives during World War II by laying a wreath at the Victory Monument.
The ceremony was attended by Minsk Governor Vladimir Kukharev, Belarusian officials and Ghana’s Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah.
Mahama later toured the Belagro 2026 exhibition, where he inspected a range of agricultural, mining and industrial equipment, including tractors, fertilizer machinery and heavy-duty haul trucks.
Speaking briefly, the President said the trip aligns with Ghana’s plans to modernise agriculture by learning from Belarus’ experience and technology.
