Manasseh warns Mahama of ‘blackmail and sabotage’ over sanitation contract decisions

Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has warned President John Dramani Mahama to prepare for what he describes as a coordinated attempt to discredit government actions in the sanitation sector.

In a letter addressed to the President, he said the controversy around sanitation contracts could trigger internal and external resistance.

“Dear President John Dramani Mahama, I am writing to alert you to prepare for a wave of blackmail against the administration in the sanitation sector,” he said.

He added that the resistance could come not only from external actors but also from within government.

“Prepare for sabotage from some of your own appointees, especially ministers, and metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) across the country.”

According to him, the situation could lead to a coordinated effort aimed at shaping public opinion against government decisions in the sector.
