Monaco GP: Lewis Hamilton defeated by 19-year-old boy

Teenage star Kimi Antonelli produced another impressive performance at the Monaco Grand Prix, claiming a dominant victory in one of the most eventful races of the season and boosting his Formula 1 world championship hopes.

The 19-year-old Mercedes driver secured his fifth straight win, finishing well ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton in a race that featured two safety cars, a red flag, and several penalties.

The victory strengthens Antonelli’s lead at the top of the championship standings. Hamilton remains his nearest rival, but the young Italian now holds a 66-point advantage. Meanwhile, Mercedes teammate George Russell endured another difficult race, dealing a major blow to his title challenge.

Starting from pole position, Antonelli answered questions about his ability to hold the lead off the start line.

He made an excellent getaway and was helped by misfortune for Max Verstappen, whose Red Bull developed an engine problem before eventually retiring from the race.

With Verstappen out of contention, Hamilton became Antonelli’s main challenger. However, any hopes of a close battle quickly faded as the Mercedes driver built a comfortable lead and controlled the race from the front, despite briefly managing brake overheating issues.
