A woman has appealed for legal and humanitarian intervention after accusing her husband of sexually abusing their five-year-old daughter.
Speaking in a video, the mother said she reported the matter to the police before it was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) for further investigation.
According to her, the child underwent two separate medical examinations, both of which reached the same conclusion.
“They did another medical report. It still shows the same thing,” she said, adding, “The doctors interviewed my daughter, and the State CID also spoke to her separately.”
The mother alleged that despite the investigations, she had been encouraged to discontinue the criminal case.
“I ran to the police. I’ve run to the court. The court is saying I should go and settle out of court,” she said.
She further claimed that influential individuals were attempting to interfere with the matter and appealed to the relevant authorities to ensure the case proceeds through the legal process.
