Renowned Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has revealed that his 56-year-old son would not sit and watch someone disrespect him by calling him by his first name, knowing he is a titled man.
The BBC-trained media personality and veteran actor made the comment while responding to Is Bae U during an interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask.
Edochie said his eldest son is 56 and would take issue with the interviewer calling him “Pete” instead of showing him the respect he expects as an older person.
“My first son is 56 years old. He can’t stand here and watch you call his father Pete,” Edochie said.
He went further to explain how serious he believes the issue of respect is within his family.
“If you call me Pete, in my son’s presence, he’ll slap you,” he said.
Edochie also noted that he has four grandchildren who are graduates, before joking about his son’s physical stature.
“Thank God he’s not here. I’m happy he’s not here,” he said.
He later added: “He’s 6 foot 5. Now let’s go. I’m 6 foot 2.”
