My Ex Compared Me to Asakaa Boys Before I Blew Up—Rap Fada

Ghanaian musician Rap Fada born David Annan, has revealed how a comparison made by his former partner with the Asaakaa Boys deeply affected him during the early stages of his music career.

Speaking on Angel FM, Kumasi, Rap Fada said his former partner questioned why he had remained an underground artiste for so long when the younger Asaakaa artistes had quickly gained recognition and produced hit songs.

“When Asaakaa started, my girl told me that I have been there all this while and these young boys who just started have come to pass me,” he recalled.

Rap Father said the comment was painful and left him emotionally distressed, despite not showing his feelings to his former partner.

“What she told me pained me and I wept inside my room,” he said.

He revealed that the experience contributed to the breakdown of their relationship, after which he blocked his former partner and stopped communicating with her.

“I am no longer with her. I even blocked her,” he stated.

However, Rap Father said he eventually reached out to his former partner after receiving nominations at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), sending her a voice note to highlight how far his career had progressed.

“Until I got the TGMA nominations, I sent her a voice note that she should see what God has done in my life,” he said.
