NDC suspends ODA Communications Officer over alleged misconduct

The Eastern Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress has suspended the ODA Constituency Communications Officer, Agbesi Benjamin, following allegations of misconduct.

In a formal notice dated January 21, 2026, the Regional Executive Committee said it had considered reports linking the officer to actions described as inconsistent with party values.

The letter, addressed to Agbesi Benjamin of the ODA Constituency, stated that the matter was discussed at a virtual meeting held on the same day.

According to the notice, the committee “deliberated on the matter and decided to suspend you from your position as a Constituency Communications Officer pursuant to Article 48 of the Party’s constitution,” adding that the case would be referred to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for adjudication.

The letter further directed that the suspension takes immediate effect and ordered the officer to return all party property in his possession to the Constituency Secretary.

It also made clear that a disciplinary hearing will follow. “The Disciplinary Committee will invite you for a hearing, and it will be in your best interest to avail yourself for adjudication,” the notice stated, explaining that recommendations would be submitted to the Regional Executive Committee for further action.
