A Nigerian lady identified as @TheLoliaba on X has shared a fond memory of veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs, recalling an encounter with him when she was 17.
She said the meeting happened during her first experience working on the AMVCA red carpet, where she was assisting the makeup team.
According to her, she was running errands between floors when she headed towards an elevator that was about to close.
“A hand held it open for me. It was Sir Olu Jacobs,” she recalled.
She thanked the actor and joined him in the elevator, admitting that she struggled to contain her excitement after meeting someone she had admired.
“He saw me grinning from the side of his eyes, and I let him know I was a big fan,” she said.
The actor then shook her hand and offered her encouraging words about work and her career before getting off the elevator.
She said the brief encounter has remained one of her fondest memories from the early stages of her career.
“It’s been 10 years since that encounter, and it’s still one of the warmest encounters I had in my early career,” she wrote.
“What an amazing human being. Rest in Peace, Sir,” she added.
