Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has criticised Apostle Arome for saying Nigeria’s calling is to pray and spread the word of God rather than develop like China.
Odumeje described the claim as nonsense, arguing that Nigeria should focus on development instead of being defined primarily by its religious identity.
“I heard one pastor talking nonsense, saying Nigeria has a calling to prayers. Which kind of calling is that? Are we prayer warriors?” he said.
The controversial preacher blamed bad governance for the proliferation of churches across the country, accusing some religious leaders of encouraging young people to depend on pastors instead of working towards national development.
“We have a calling to be developers. Bad government is what has caused all these churches across the country. They want to deceive the youths so that everyone will turn to pastors,” he said.
Odumeje also urged Nigerian youths to become more involved in politics and take responsibility for the country’s future.
“Nigerian youths, let’s come out, fight for ourselves and take back our government,” he added.
His comments come amid the public disagreement involving social media personality VeryDarkMan and Apostle Arome over the clergyman’s remarks about Nigeria’s spiritual calling.
