The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed that all prospective parliamentary aspirants cease all campaign activities.
A statement from the party said campaigning before nominations are opened is contrary to the party’s regulations and code of conduct.
Adding that this creates an uneven playing field and undermines the unity and discipline on which the party’s success depends.
Aside from the need to desist from campaigning traditionally, the party has barred prospective aspirants and their followers to desist from campaigning on social media too.
Going contrary to the directive from the party’s leadership will come with disciplinary action.
