NPP Manifesto Launch: Bawumia Appeals to Ghanaian Youth for Support

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, delivered a heartfelt appeal to Ghanaian youth at Sunday’s launch of the NPP’s 2024 manifesto in Takoradi.

His address, marked by an emotional and personal tone, sought to galvanize young people around his vision for a transformed Ghana and a brighter future for them.

In his speech, Bawumia emphasized the importance of the youth in his plans for the country.

“To the youth of our country, please lend me your ears,” he said before outlining his track record, personal integrity, and vision for addressing Ghana’s challenges.

He described the nation as pivotal, with the upcoming December 2024 election presenting an opportunity for significant change.

“I believe I would serve our nation better as your next President,” Bawumia asserted.

“I am a problem-solving leader,” he continued, highlighting his achievements over the past seven years under President Akufo-Addo’s administration.

Bawumia detailed his experience and qualifications, noting his career from academia to roles at the Bank of Ghana, the African Development Bank, and as Vice President.

He emphasized his competence, diligence, and practical management skills as evidence of his capability to implement bold solutions.

“I possess the integrity you require in your next President,” Bawumia said, positioning himself as a leader with a proven ability to manage and deliver results transparently and professionally.

He also noted his successful track record in handling major projects and programs.

Addressing the issue of youth unemployment, Bawumia acknowledged that while notable job creation efforts have been made in recent years, unemployment remains a significant challenge.

He promised to continue expanding and sustaining economic growth to tackle this problem.

“To the Gen Zs, I am your ‘plug’ to your dreams of a prosperous Ghana,” Bawumia declared.

“I will deliver decent-paying jobs and offer a problem-solving leadership grounded in integrity, compassion, and sincerity.”

Concluding his address, Bawumia presented his manifesto as a beacon of hope, emphasizing that it is designed to “give” hope, provide “vibes,” and create “jobs.”
