The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has emphasized that success in the upcoming 2028 elections depends on collective effort rather than individual ambition.
Speaking to reporters amid the NPP flagbearer primaries, Mohammed said, “Your General Secretary once said that no one can win election 2028 without the rest or without the party.
The party must win election today.” He added that criticism and personal attacks within the party should be measured carefully.
“Today, you come at just because you won elections and then you are overwhelmed, you speak it out.
“People believe that the party, respectfully, is in tatters, and people are throwing jabs, naming the 10 sins of person A, person B and all that,” he explained.
Mohammed also addressed internal competition, describing it as a healthy sign of democracy.
“In every political party, there has always been disagreement. Disagreements result in agreements.
“That is very beautiful for all of us,” he said, adding that the NPP has emerged stronger through past elections.
