CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tamekloe, has mentioned that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta should return and face legal processes related to his tenure.
He argued that previous public officials have gone through accountability procedures without avoiding legal scrutiny.
Edudzi Tamekloe said Ghana’s governance system has dealt with similar situations involving former officials who remained within jurisdiction during investigations and trials.
He maintained that Ofori-Atta’s case should not be treated differently from others who have faced legal proceedings in the past.
According to him, accountability requires that individuals respond directly to the process when called upon.
He added that he supports Ofori-Atta’s return to Ghana to address the issues raised.
“Let Ken come,” he said during a panel discussion on Keypoints on TV3.
He stressed that public office comes with responsibility, and that legal processes should be allowed to take their course without obstruction.
