Brazilian pageant queen Ana Beatriz Araújo Ferreira has died after being struck by lightning during a rainstorm in Almas, Tocantins.
Araújo, who was recently crowned Queen of the Rodeo at ExpoAlmas, was reportedly caring for her niece when she was struck. She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on October 3.
Her brother, César Augusto, described her as one of the most beautiful people he had known.
Araújo was a physiotherapy student at Unopar University and leaves behind a five-year-old son.
ExpoAlmas organisers announced her death in a tribute, mourning her loss and extending condolences to her family and friends.
