Former Ghana international Godwin Attram has urged Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz to build the team’s midfield around Thomas Partey ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to Graphic Sports, Attram stressed that Partey’s influence will depend heavily on how he is deployed tactically.
“The coach should pair him with an athletic, box-to-box midfielder who can cover ground,” Attram said.
He believes Ghana should avoid overburdening the midfielder with defensive responsibilities and instead allow him to dictate play from deeper central positions.
“That would allow Partey to operate between the defensive and attacking lines, helping the team build from the back while also protecting the defence.”
