Police reportedly stop hearse carrying Apostle Safo Kantanka’s body after court order halts burial process

While thousands of mourners had gathered at Gomoa Mpota to bid Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka farewell, reports emerged that the hearse carrying his body had reportedly been stopped by police before reaching its destination.

According to information circulating on social media, the hearse was intercepted before it could proceed with the burial, following what has been described as a court order relating to the funeral arrangements.

The reports further claim that the body of the late Kristo Asafo founder was returned to the Transitions Funeral Home, even as activities at the funeral grounds continued.

Videos and posts shared online allege that the police officers acted in compliance with the court directive, which reportedly halted the burial process.

Meanwhile, mourners who had travelled from different parts of the country remained at Gomoa Mpota to pay their final respects to the renowned inventor, industrialist and religious leader.

The reported development follows the legal dispute surrounding Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s final wishes, which had already prompted the Kantanka Family to announce that the burial would not proceed until the courts determined issues arising from his will.

As of the time these reports emerged, the claims about the police intervention were based on information circulating online, with the funeral programme continuing while the reported court-ordered halt to the burial remained the centre of public discussion.
