The Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee (IMCC) on Decentralisation Secretariat has responded to comments made by its former Executive Secretary, Dennis Edward Aboagye, stating that findings from a 2025 forensic audit have been submitted to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for further action.
According to the Secretariat, the audit found Mr Aboagye and the Accountant jointly responsible for identified irregularities, adding that he was given the opportunity to respond to the findings before the report was forwarded.
“The Audit findings have been submitted to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for necessary action,” the statement said.
The Secretariat also rejected Mr Aboagye’s claims that he was instructed to stop commenting on government matters or that there had been pressure to investigate him, describing those assertions as inaccurate.
It further stated that Mr Aboagye had requested that aspects of the audit findings be dropped during a meeting, but the request was declined.
The Secretariat said it remains committed to accountability and will continue to cooperate with EOCO’s ongoing investigation.
