A social media user, Ebun, has shared a sad account of how a promising young graduate and his family lost their lives within a short period.
According to Ebun, the young man, his coursemate, had completed his studies with a first-class degree and was nearing the end of his national service.
Plans were already in place for him to travel abroad after his uncle in the United States secured admission for his master’s programme.
However, the journey was cut short. “On his way to Abuja to complete some documentation, he got into an accident and died on the spot,” Ebun wrote.
The tragedy deepened when the young man’s father reportedly collapsed after receiving the news.
“He was the only child of his parents. When his father received the news, he slûmped and died immediately,” the post added.
Weeks later, the family suffered another loss. “Just weeks before their burial, his mother took her own life too,” Ebun stated.
In the end, all three were laid to rest on the same day. Reflecting on the experience, Ebun wrote, “The day of their bur1al, vanity stopped being a scripture. It became a story I witnessed.”
