Akuapem North Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Sammi Awuku said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has identified about 35 alleged scandals involving the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), which it plans to publicise gradually before the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on UTV, Hon Awuku said the number could increase as more controversies emerge, adding that the party was prepared to provide names and voice notes to support its claims.
“NPP has about 35 of these scandals of the NDC, and these would be rolled out from now till the 2028 elections,” he said.
He cited allegations surrounding visa arrangements for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, claiming some NDC regional executives acted as intermediaries through whom government appointees collected money from unsuspecting applicants.
“With the World Cup, I can confidently tell you today that some regional executives of the NDC were the conduits the appointees used to collect money from unsuspecting victims,” he alleged.
Awuku also challenged Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to publish invoices showing the cost of evacuating Ghanaians from South Africa.
He argued that Ablakwa had demanded details of presidential travel expenses while in opposition and should now provide similar information as a government minister.
“My brother Ablakwa did a good job in opposition. Presidential travel, he was still able to give us quotations of how much, the cost, per hour of President Akufo-Addo’s flight,” Awuku said.
“So it shouldn’t be difficult. Now that you are the one seized with the documents, tell us, give us invoices of the flight,” he added.
