Small-minded Ghanaians beat up building of Ghana’s National Cathedral – Mensa Otabil

Pastor Mensa Otabil has chided Ghanaians who fought against the decision to build a national cathedral by the erstwhile Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He cites examples of other countries building massively to the glory of God and indicates that Ghanaians are small minded that they allow politics to blind them.

The Man of God, addressing the issue, said, “Ghana wanted to build a Cathedral; Christians beat it up with their own mouth. Others are building things all over. We are so small-minded that we allow politics to blind us. We allow politics to crash our thinking. We need to build massively to the glory of God”.

The National Cathedral of Ghana is a proposed interdenominational Christian place of worship located in Accra, near the Osu Cemetery. Conceived by the government in 2018 and designed by architect Sir David Adjaye, the project has faced major public debate, financial hurdles, and delays, leaving construction stalled.

The current government is subjecting the books of the National Cathedral to a forensic audit to ensure that the taxpayer’s money was not squandered by people who were tasked with building the facility.
