SONA 2026: Our setbacks led to stronger recovery – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has drawn a parallel between his personal journey in public service and Ghana’s national experience.

“My journey in public service, like that of our nation, has not followed a straight path.

“It has been marked by periods of steady progress, and then by setbacks and by determined recovery,” he said in Parliament during the 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA).

The President framed the nation’s current moment as one of hope and renewal.

“That pattern of resilience mirrors the national experience of our nation.

“And today, I stand before you to speak to another such defining moment, a moment in which our nation is on the rebound of national renewal and of restored hope,” he said.

Mahama stressed the importance of national unity and determination in overcoming past challenges.
