Ten-man Aduana FC hand Kotoko first GPL defeat of the season

Aduana FC produced a strong performance to beat Asante Kotoko 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, despite playing with 10 men for more than 50 minutes.

Samuel Boadu’s side defended well and took their chances to hand Kotoko their first defeat of the Ghana Premier League season.

Aduana took the lead after just seven minutes when Stephen Amankona took advantage of an error by Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad to put the visitors ahead.

Their task became harder late in the first half when Raymond Agyemang was sent off after receiving two yellow cards within five minutes.

Despite playing most of the second half with 10 men, Aduana stayed organised and frustrated Kotoko, who struggled to create clear chances.

Aduana also continued to threaten in attack and hit the post in the second half as they looked dangerous on the counter.

Their hard work was rewarded late in the game when Seidu Saana sealed the win with a counter-attack.

Kotoko had pushed players forward in search of an equaliser when Aduana broke quickly. Saana raced through, went past Danlad and calmly placed the ball through the legs of the last defender to make it 2-0.
