Former Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, says a list allegedly associated with the NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, influenced his decision to reconsider his chances of winning in the party’s recent internal election.
Yandoh, in an interview on Asempa FM said he came across a list circulating in connection with Dr. Bawumia and became concerned after discovering that his name was not included.
“There was a list circulating from Dr. Bawumia and when I checked my name, it was not part. That was when I sensed that I had to forgo the win,” he stated.
He also attributed some of the difficulties he encountered during the election to the absence of Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, whom he said he had expected to assist him financially, but because he is now in prison, that was not possible.
“The absence of Chairman Wontumi also affected my election because he was the one going to help with my finances,” he said.
