There is no starting eleven in the team now – GFA on Black Stars lineup

Ghana Football Association Communications Director Henry Asante Twum says the Black Stars are enjoying a positive atmosphere in camp as they continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.

Speaking from the team’s training base, Asante Twum said the players and technical staff are united, focused, and determined to make a strong impression at the tournament.

“We are happy in camp, we are a focused group, we are a determined group, and we want to make a name in this tournament,” he told Nhyira FM.

He explained that the team deliberately arrived in the United States early to adapt to the conditions and ensure the players are fully prepared before the competition begins.

“We wanted to come to the USA early, get used to the weather and adjust quickly. The training sessions have been very intense and productive. It’s been very good, and we hope it continues throughout the tournament,” he added.

Asante Twum also revealed that competition for places remains fierce within the squad, with no player guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup.

“There is no starting eleven in the team now. Every player is working hard and fighting for a place,” he noted.

The Black Stars will be hoping that the strong spirit in camp translates into positive results when they begin their Group L campaign against Panama before taking on England and Croatia.
