Jerome Opoku says Ghana’s win over Panama in their first World Cup game has put the Black Stars in a good position before their important match against England.
The defender said the three points have given the team more confidence and brought a positive feeling to camp.
“I think everyone is happy with the result. The three points are the most important thing, and now we feel a good vibe in the training rooms. That’s what we needed going into the next game.”
“We’ve got experienced guys, players coming to their first World Cup like me, young players and senior players. It’s a healthy balance.”
Even though England have many quality players, the defender believes Ghana have what it takes to compete.
“We know they’ve got great players, but we know our qualities too. We just need to fight for each other like we did against Panama, and hopefully we can get the three points.”
