Former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia says a Thanksgiving Service held in his honour is not a personal glory but a time for party members to come together.
“Today’s thanksgiving service is not a celebration of personal ambition,” he said.
“It is for me a moment to join you all in reflection, prayer and a recommitment to a higher cause.”
He expressed gratitude for what he described as a peaceful internal election.
“Our flag-bearership election was peaceful and incident free,” he noted, adding that he believes divine guidance played a role in the outcome.
“Without God’s arms wrapped around us, we would not have been successful.”
“For all things give thanks to God,” he said, describing the gathering as an act of appreciation rather than self congratulation.
