Australian mother Annmarie O’Reilly, 30, was allegedly murdered in her Ferntree Gully home on Friday morning while her youngest son was present.
Her 45-year-old partner has been charged with murder. Police arrived around 10am after a passerby noticed erratic behavior, entered the home, and discovered the victim.
The couple, originally from Ireland, had relocated to Melbourne with their three children. No prior domestic violence history was recorded.
Tributes describe O’Reilly as a devoted mother and kind person. Her death marks the 46th suspected domestic violence homicide of an Australian woman this year.
The family home remains an active crime scene.
