Ugandan woman appeals for help after alleging American husband abandoned her and two children

A Ugandan woman from Mbarara named Mbabazi is appealing for help after alleging that her American husband, Preston, abandoned her and their two young children and stopped supporting them after returning to the United States.

She says Preston eventually cut off all financial support, leaving her to take care of both children on her own.

Her appeal has caught the attention of Ugandan singer Bruno K, who has joined efforts to trace Preston and establish his whereabouts.

Bruno K has appealed to Ugandans living in the United States, particularly those with links to the military, to help locate him. Some Ugandans reportedly serving in the US military have since reached out and indicated that they are willing to assist.

The singer has also appealed to the US Embassy in Kampala to look into the situation, particularly whether the two children, whose alleged father is an American serviceman, may qualify for US citizenship or receive any form of support through him.

Beyond helping to locate Preston, people supporting Mbabazi have encouraged her to seek legal counsel and approach the appropriate authorities so the matter can be handled through formal channels.

Bruno K has also announced a fundraising effort to help Mbabazi and the children meet immediate needs, including food and school expenses, as the situation continues to draw attention on social media.
