Prominent NDC communicator Hamza Suhuyini has said GoldBod has become so important to the NDC government’s economic record that he does not believe the party can tell its success story without the institution.
The NDC communications team member said the government had achieved an economic performance he described as unprecedented in Ghana’s history since independence, and insisted that GoldBod was at the centre of that record.
“In less than two years in power, the NDC has done what this country never did in a matter of four or five decades, in fact, since independence. Never in our country’s history. That is the economy,” he said during an event.
Suhuyini said the institution should therefore be seen as more than another government agency because, in his view, its performance has become part of the government’s economic identity.
“And the bedrock of that success cannot be written without GoldBod. Let no one deceive you,” he said.
“So we have effectively taken that space, economic space, away from the MPP and no politician, no party will be able to win elections in this country without the economy and corruption,” he added.
He said this was why the NDC should not shy away from defending GoldBod or discussing its role in the government’s economic performance.
“What do you think they will do? They will attack the foundation of our economic success story. And that foundation is GoldBod,” he concluded.
