We supported a reset, not a redo – Nana Jantuah on Ofosu Nkansah detention

Ghanaian journalist and on-air personality Nana Kwadwo Jantuah has weighed in on the ongoing situation involving former NEIP CEO Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, expressing concern over the country’s policy challenges.

“Electricity prices are up, unemployment is still a huge problem, cocoa is another issue, and your major policy is yet to materialize. That should be your headache, not an ‘I have power so I can use it anyway’ attitude.

Free Kofi. In opposition, NDC said worse things about the President; we’re reminding you, if you start this way… We supported a RESET, not a REDO,” Jantuah stated.

Meanwhile, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, lawyer for Nkansah, confirmed that his client has been formally charged with publishing false news.

The charge stems from allegations that Nkansah claimed someone paid to secure a government-funded scholarship abroad.

“The charge relates to allegations that someone paid to secure a government-funded scholarship abroad,” Awuah said.

He added that Nkansah remains in the custody of the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) despite being eligible for bail.

Nkansah was detained on Tuesday following questioning by the NIB, acting on directives from President John Mahama to investigate claims of irregularities in overseas scholarships, which Nkansah discussed during a broadcast on Sompa 106.5 FM.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
