Declan Rice has said he is fully fit ahead of England’s World Cup match against Ghana on Tuesday night after an injury scare during the win over Croatia.
The Arsenal midfielder was taken off in the second half after appearing to feel discomfort in his hamstring and lower back. This caused concern because of his important role in England’s midfield.
Declan Rice has reassured fans and the England team that the decision to take him off was only a precaution.
“Yes, I’m ready. I’m fit and raring to go. I think it was a smart decision (to take me off). I was feeling a little bit of neural pain in my hamstring which I was managing after Christmas with Arsenal for a very long time. Obviously, not a lot of people would’ve known, it was all behind the scenes stuff,” he said.
