United Party communicator, Hopson Adorye has pointed to structured boarding school systems as environments where social and economic differences among students are reduced through uniform rules and routines.
He referenced his experience in a disciplined Catholic school setting, where students were required to follow strict standardisation in dress and personal items.
“When you get to the school, you will not see the rich man’s daughter and the poor man’s daughter,” he said on JoyNews.
He explained that students used the same clothing and basic items regardless of background.
“They wear the same dress, the same slippers, everything,” he said.
He added that dormitory life in such schools also followed a uniform system, where personal differences were not visible in daily routines.
“You get to their dorm, they are using the same Ghana must go,” he said.
According to him, such systems reduce visible class separation within the school environment.
