Gifty Mawunya Dumelo, wife of actor-turned-politician and Ayawaso West Wuogon MP John Dumelo, has mourned the late former Agriculture Minister Alhaji Ibrahim Issaka Adam, describing him as a legend and her hero.
Gifty recalled the long conversations and gossip she shared with the former minister, saying she would miss him dearly.
“Oh how I miss you already 😭😭😭 death is so cruel… I will miss our long conversations and gossips,” she wrote on social media.
She also reflected on the connection between Ibrahim Adam’s political career and that of her husband, John Dumelo.
Gifty recalled a conversation about how fortunate her parents were to have had two MPs and ministers as in-laws, noting that both men had been assigned to the Ministry of Agriculture.
“What intrigued us the most was the fact that you both were assigned to the same Ministry (Agric) you were deputy and rose to Minster and now John filling your position as Deputy….life hmmm,” she wrote.
Ibrahim Adam, who was also known as Adam Issaka Ibrahim, was the husband of veteran actress and filmmaker Selassie Ibrahim. He passed away at the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Accra while undergoing medical treatment.
An animal scientist by profession, he held a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Agriculture before entering politics and public service.
Gifty ended her tribute by describing him as a legend and a hero.
“You were a legend and we will forever hold you dearly in our hearts. Hon. Adam Ibrahim our Hero rest in power 😭🙏🏽”
