Asante Kotoko have signed 22-year-old Moroccan goalkeeper Abdelwadie Mourad to strengthen head coach Eric Tinkler’s goalkeeping options.
Mourad joins a group that already includes Aziz Dari, returning goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad and youth team graduate Clever Obeng.
The Moroccan started his professional career with top-flight club Chabab Mohammedia after coming through the club’s youth system.
He made 14 appearances for the senior team before moving to Albanian side Basania FC, where he spent half a season.
Mourad becomes the first Moroccan player to represent Asante Kotoko.
The goalkeeper will now look to establish himself at one of Ghana’s biggest football clubs as he begins a new chapter in his career.
