Marvin Senaya injury updates

Ghana defender Marvin Senaya has made his return to competitive football after four months out through injury, although his comeback ended in disappointment as Auxerre suffered a 5-1 loss to Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

The Black Stars right-back featured for the first time since his injury layoff, coming off the bench in the Week 9 fixture at the Stade de la Meinau.

Senaya entered the game in the 63rd minute, taking the place of Congolese defender Christ Makosso, but was unable to help Auxerre avoid a heavy defeat.

Strasbourg dominated the encounter, with Dário Essugo, Hugo Oliveira, Martial Godo and Gessime Yassine finding the net. Yassine scored twice to complete the hosts’ emphatic victory.

The Ghanaian defender had been unavailable since suffering a serious injury during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, forcing him to miss the opening weeks of the 2026/27 season.
