Earl International Group (GH) Gold Limited has denied reports linking one of its workers to an alleged shooting incident involving an illegal miner at its underground mining site.
In a press release issued on Monday, November 2, 2026, the company described the publication by online outlet Media Without Borders as false and misleading, insisting that none of its employees or personnel was involved in the alleged shooting.
According to the company, it was notified of the incident by the Ghana Police Service and subsequently directed the Head of Operations of its security service provider, Reliable Protection Services (RPS), to report to the Regional Police Command to assist with investigations.
Earl International said preliminary internal investigations indicated that dozens of illegal miners, many reportedly armed, invaded its underground mining area on the night of Thursday, October 29, 2026.
The company alleged that the intruders carried out violent attacks and destroyed operational infrastructure and equipment, including electrical cables, tricycles, ventilation fans and CCTV cameras.
It further maintained that security personnel exercised restraint during the incident and that no personnel of Reliable Protection Services discharged a firearm.
“ The alleged shooting incident did not involve any employee of Earl Group,” the company stated, reiterating its denial of any involvement by its personnel or assigns.
Earl International said it remained committed to cooperating fully with the Ghana Police Service and providing the necessary assistance to ensure a thorough investigation into the matter.
The company also expressed concern about what it described as persistent misleading reports concerning its operations, adding that it remained focused on the safety of its personnel, protection of its assets and contribution to Ghana’s mining industry.
