Former Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) Managing Director David Asante Boateng has challenged the current management of the company to stop taking credit for its transformation, insisting that the business was already profitable before the change of government.
In a statement directed at Minister of State for Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Boateng accused the current Managing Director of making claims about the company’s success that he described as untruthful and misleading.
Boateng, who served as GPCL Managing Director from August 2017 to February 2025, said the minister should not allow himself to be drawn into what he described as pedestrian politics over the company’s performance.
“I am informed the Managing Director of Ghana Publishing and his Boss Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu are still on a strenuous path to convince Ghanaians they own the success of transformation at the Ghana Publishing Company Limited,” he stated.
He directly challenged Kwakye Ofosu to address the claims made by the current management, arguing that the minister already knew about the company’s progress under the previous NPP government.
“Hon. Minister, advise him to sound truthful and factual,” Boateng said, adding that he was prepared to meet the minister and other relevant officials for a debate on how the NPP managed the company.
“If you want us to meet at the table for a meaningful debate about how the NPP soundly managed The Ghana Publishing Company Limited, if you so desire, I am ready,” he added.
