All 6,300 GES staff recruited without clearance have been paid

The Ministry of Finance has clarified that all 6,300 Ghana Education Service (GES) staff recruited in 2024 without financial clearance have been paid.

In a press release dated September 8, 2026, the Ministry said the government inherited the outstanding salary issue in 2025 and secured Cabinet approval to issue financial clearance for payment in four tranches.

The Ministry said it has now completed payments to all 6,300 staff covered under the arrangement.

It also stated that there are currently no outstanding requests for financial clearance from the GES awaiting action.

Staff who still have unresolved salary or arrears issues have been advised to contact the Ghana Education Service for assistance with their payroll or administrative matters.
