Awal questions Gideon Hammond’s Facebook post about politicians pocketing $5m to $10m from deals

NPP communicator Awal Mohammed has questioned a Facebook post by Gideon Hammond, the Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), over remarks about politicians allegedly receiving millions of dollars from government deals.

Mohammed referred to Hammond, who is also the Greater Accra Regional Deputy Youth Organiser of the NDC, and cited a post in which he asked whether politicians who pocket between $5 million and $10 million after every deal are able to spend the money.

“Is he subtly telling us that he has already secured that kind of money from a deal and is now looking for creative ways to spend it?” Mohammed wrote.

He also asked: “Is he asking netizens for ideas on how to blow millions of dollars?”

Mohammed further questioned whether the post reflected the mindset of public officials, writing, “Is this how our public officials think now?”
