New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, Martin Ameyaw, has attributed his resilience, firmness and humility to the upbringing he received while growing up in a police barracks in Obuasi.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, Kumasi, about his childhood and his vision for helping the NPP regain political ground in the Ashanti Region, Ameyaw reflected on his early years as the son of a police officer.
“I believe in humility, and I am very resilient. I was born in Obuasi and stayed at the barracks because my father was a police officer,” he said.
According to him, life in the barracks exposed him to an environment that combined discipline, community, and quality education.
“In our days, staying at the barracks was very interesting, with good schools,” he recalled.
He said his interactions with police officers during his childhood also contributed significantly to the development of his personality and prepared him to deal with challenges.
“My experience with the police officers made me strong and firm,” he stated.
He suggested that the values of resilience, discipline, and humility developed from his upbringing would be important as he works with young people and seeks to strengthen the party’s grassroots organization.
