Humble Man, Big Win: Ameyaw’s Secret to NPP Ashanti Youth Victory

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, Martin Ameyaw, has attributed his victory in the regional election primarily to humility, arguing that neither money nor his campaign message was the decisive factor.

Speaking on Angel FM, Kumasi, Ameyaw acknowledged that money and a strong message are important components of any political campaign but insisted that his personal approach to people ultimately distinguished him from his competitors.

“It was not my message that got me the win, and it was not about money. What got me elected was humility,” he said.

According to him, humility is an essential quality for anyone seeking to progress in life and politics, particularly because it enables leaders to build meaningful relationships with people.

“If you want to go far in this life, humility is very important,” he stated.

Ameyaw said that although the campaign message and financial resources are necessary when contesting an election, they were not the factors that ultimately secured his victory.

“The message and money are essentials in winning an election, but they were not the factors that made me win. It was humility,” he explained.

He further described humility as an important characteristic of effective leadership, arguing that leaders who respect others are more likely to earn lasting support.

“Humility is a good trait of a good leader, and when one is humble, the person goes far and God also blesses him,” he said.

However, Ameyaw stressed that humility should not be confused with weakness or an unwillingness to defend oneself.

“Humility does not mean you allow people to cheat you, but rather you give the needed respect to every person,” he explained.

He said the principle would guide his approach to leadership as he prepares to serve as the NPP Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, particularly in his interactions with party members and young people across the region.
